Well, Hi!
I did not go to my volunteering job this morning because I really was not feeling very well when I woke to feed the dog. So, I emailed them and let them know and went back to sleep to see if that could help. I guess I was feeling worse than I even thought I was because I didn't wake up again until 1230! Yah. As it is I still have a headache and am stiff...but the stomach is feeling better for the most part.

I had class in the rain yesterday and so trudged through all the wetness to get to the bus early in the morning as I had a meeting with a fellow student about a project before hand. It is our week to lead the online discussion and so we had to come up with questions to do this. There were supposed to be 4 of us and I guess the other two dropped the class along the way. Oh well. It was good to put a face on someone I have been emailing back and forth with for a week. I cam up with 6 questions and so did she. We posted them last night and someone has answered one already! I am oddly excited by this, like my little baby questions are getting out there in the world and people are responding! hehehe, I am weird I know.

Class was boring as hell and I did as much of the free crossword and sudoku as I could, but had to give up on the sudoku. I then switched to reading through my research book for my literature review in a different class and taking notes on that. The "lecture" was on everything I had read and listened to in preparation for my discussion questions so there was nothing new to learn from the prof. As usual. Two things so were funny in class. The guy who sits in the first row and plays with transformers the whole time (no joke) dropped them at some point and they were really loud and it was amusing. The other funny thing was the prof telling a story of how we will see that Pittsburgh takes all our money and doesn't use for civil service projects in 3 months when we break an axle on "chuck" holes that have not been repaired. He said this and then two minutes later, a kid raised his hand and asked, "did you say 'chuck' holes?!" The prof went into this explanation that he refuses to use Pittsburghese and say pothole. He is from ohio and so he uses "chuck" holes. Then this girl raised her hand and replied, "I am sorry to call you out, but I am from Texas and we say pothole." We all laughed heartily at this and the prof tried to save face and for some reason asked everyone what does a dog say. We all said, woof, arf, bark...he had to give up as the other prof that teaches the class reminded him he was stupid and to get on with it. hehehehe

I will have you know that the dog just audibly farted as she was getting up on the couch. HAHA! ew

Patrick has been gone all week to the south to visit his kin and whatnot. I am to pick him up at the train station saturday night at 11 something? I think that is right, I will have to ask him, later. It has been all quiet and boring around here without him. Although I do enjoy not having to drive out to Trader joes and back many times a week. Also that saves on gas as I have no money and barely any gas in the car. lalala.

The oven repair guy came yesterday late afternoon, so I spent the time after coming home from class cleaning up as much as I could. The living-room is presentable and the dinging room also. I threw all the trash away in the basement/kitchen, so it looks good too, now. He was down there for like 15 minutes tops, and needed to borrow our flashlight. Apparently the thermostat on the oven was whack. that is the knobby thing and whatever it connects to that you turn o turn the oven on and whatnot. Well, the problem was I as having trouble getting it to turn on at all. I would turn the dial and nothing would happen in the oven. Or I would turn it on, it would come on, and then just shut off on its own. Or worst, was when I would have the thing off, go downstairs to do something, and notice that the oven had turned it self on at some point, and was just heating away, with its gas fire going strong. safe. So the guy said he needed to find out how much a replacement part is. He said it might actually be quite expensive to replace, like more than a new oven altogether. I kinda hope it is so we can get a new one anyway, as this one is pretty sucky all around. And Ray (the landlord) would have to pay for it so yay! The guy says he turned off the ignition for the oven so it wouldn't turn on on its own and burn the house down and all that fun stuff.

hmm...maybe I will go make myself a sandwich or something now, as I am hungry and whatnot

Bye LJ World!

Hi er'body!
Well, it has been a busy couple weeks weeks here I will say that. I was all excited about Halloween and trick or treaters, every place I have lived (not including my parent's house) there were no kiddies to wander around and harass people for candy so I thought I might get a chance this year what with living in a house in a neighborhood and such. So, I went out and bought a fair amount of candy, dressed up in my fakey Renaissance outfit and waited with the door pen so light could shine out as we have no outside porch light here. Well, I at least got 10 people! So, a slow start, but it made me happy to pass out candy.

I have had papers and projects coming up fast and furious the last few weeks also with midterms and everything else too. I just turned in a paper yesterday for my preservation class and the week before it was a paper for my intro to archives class. Whew! Next up are more papers for the class I hate (intro to information, designing a webpage as a project for the tech class, a final paper that should end up being around 20 pages for preservation and a lit review for archives as well as finals for some of these classes. I just need to schedule our time to remember to work on these more long term thingies so I don't lose sight of them and then freak out cuz they are due tomorrow or something.

We are really low on money this month already and we are only 3 days into it. That is because my car insurance decided to go up for no apparent reason and then go up even more because I didn't fill out some crap paper work special to Pennsylvania and so the bumped me up to having to pay maximum everything, which I called and bitched about and got those finally taken down (it was like 350 minimum payment this month or something) to the 75 a month minimum i have to ay now, which is silly to me as i was only paying 0 a month in Virginia and I haven't had any accidents or anything to raise my coverage...just moved to a crappy state for car insurance I guess.

Also, our landlord finally sent us a water bill. We were actually receiving them here but they were addressed to him and so we had to hand them off to him...and he just puts a photo copy in our mailbox and expects us to send the money to him instead of the water company...again some weird crap with Pennsylvania laws or whatever. So, we have our first one after being in this house since the end of July. yah.

Also, Daisy has an ear infection that has gotten really bad. We were trying to clean it out every day in hopes that it might just kinda go away (it has in the past) but no go. It is the worst one she has had so we took her to the vet yesterday to have it checked out. They refused to prescribe her meds until they saw her in a visit (35 bucks) and then they insisted on running a test on the junk that is built up in there to make sure it was the same kind of infection she has always gotten (another 35 bucks) and finally prescribed her some ear meds (another 35 bucks) so we can get her all happy and pink eared again. All in all, it was 110 dollars that we prolly needed for gas money, food, and bills that we had to give up yesterday for the dog. I just wish we were able to get the meds without the entire ordeal of everything else and them squeezing us for more money. they want to see her next week, which will not happen as I am not going to pay another 35 bucks for them to say whether her ear infection is still here or not, I can make that observation on my own for free, thanks.

So we have come to the conclusion that I need to fit in some part time work somewhere probably on Tuesdays and Sundays to help bring in a little more cash to pay for things. Every other day of the week I either have class or am volunteering down at the Heinz History Center Archives which I need to do because I wasn't able to get an internship through Pitt anywhere because I signed up too late for the program. I need to have experience so I can get a job down the line, you know?

So yah. I do like all the walking and stuff I have been doing though. I have been trying to take the stairs in my school building and parking farther away and walking to where ever. I also have been trying to bring back my little dance parties I used to have in High School where I would turn on the radio when I got home and dance around the living for an hour or so... it is good fun, cheap, exorcise...

Anyway, I have blah blahed for too long and now much venture over to look at lolcats and go "aaawwww"

Hello all
It has been a busy couple weeks up here in the foothills of the Appalachias. It has been really cold the last week or so and we had no heat for a good chunk of it. The landlord was supposed to show up today to turn it on, but showed up yesterday as Patrick was trying to get out the door instead. So we have heat now that it is 65 degrees outside..hurray?

It was also "fast track" weekend here at Pitt, so all the online students had to come and sit in classes for three hours so they could suffer like we do every week. Friday night's "lecture" was painful. It was the head of the archives, who is supposed to interesting and engaging lecturer, but he read us his 45 page paper he wrote for some conference instead. And, the slides he used were cut off at the top. I literally slept the last 15 minutes of it, even though i was trying very hard not to.

We all had to go out to a bar afterwords and drink/eat fatty fried foods to erase the badness. Saturday afternoon's lecture was waaaaay more interesting. The head of the preservation dept for Hillman libraries came with a giant box full of old books and preservation materials for us to play with. I didn't take a singly note for that lecture but it was fascinating I didn't have to.

Yesterday afternoon was spent with my dad as we drove down to Washington County to visit with Yvonne Noble at her dead aunt's house down there. She had piles of crap or my dad to look through and kept trying to get me to take boxes of books about iconology of bees and feminist writings from the 50's. I declined. As it was my dad's trunk of his car was filled with about 8 boxes of very old music books (1840's and up) and blank notes of lined and other paper, envelopes, office supplies, and other crap. I didn't take anything out of that trunk to my house because lets face, I already have my own pack rat here and I don't need more crap in this house without any storiage furniture except one bookcase. yah...

After we were done looking through dead old lady thing's we went to a place called Trax Market. It was this huge grocery country store place with fresh veggies and cheese and fudge and giant ass pumpkins and an antiques loft (Yvonne had things set aside for her to come back for). I got an enormous bag of kettle corn that should last for a month or so and some candied apples for the boy and i. I also got him some pepperoni bread, apples, and beef jerky. I got some lovely marbled rye bread and some apple and pumpkin butter to spread on it.

On the way back up to Pittsburgh, dad and I stopped i at the A&W/Long John Silver's at Century III mall. He got fish tacos which he said were pleasantly better then he thought they would be. I got the fried fish meal with stewed carrots and beans, as i felt i needed something resembling veggies. But we both actually went for the on tap root beer which was soooo smooth and frothy..mmmmmm. When we got back to his house, my dad informed me that he would like a bunch of the crap they have in their house sorted through and given away. So, Jess and Meghaan, he suggests we look through all those boxes in the cedar room and the weird side room off the laundry over Thanksgiving and we can keep stuff if we want. I think he just wants lots of it gone. He says a bunch of it is unopened wedding gifts from the 70's....hmmm.

Today I have no classes because of having to go to classes over the weekend. I woke up this morning to use the bathroom and just have been in a bad mood since. I tried to sleep the day away hoping i could just maybe wake up tomorrow and it would be better. But I couldn't do it so here I am trying to avoid the day in the living room instead. I really just don't want to deal with anything or anyone today which is compounded by my car insurance sending me a bill for a minimum payment of 300 some odd dollars because i didn't send some sort of paper work in or something. yah...assholes. so Patrick called them and they are supposed to send me in an email the paper i need to sign or whatever and i willhave to print them out somewhere and fax them back. something about Pennsylvania being pirates or aomething stupid, damn!

And then the reason for the subject is we are all waiting for our profs from preservation to grade our papers which they said would be done by today and as far as i know, no one has gotten a grade yet. would be nice to see a grade and comments as we are already working on our next assignment for them....yah.

hi all
It has been a busy time here what with trying to keep up with papers and online discussion boards and classes and Jew stuff and fuzzy doggies. Whew! I have turned in at least three papers in the last two weeks all having a lot of research and what not. Also trying to keep up with all the readings for classes and labs and such. Yes, I know it is a library program so the books and writing make sense, but still! lordy lordy! So far, I have managed to get pretty good grades and do everything I need to do, I am just kind of a disorganized personality in this regard so it is a conscious effort on my part to stay on top of everything. Which seems to be kind of DUH but yah.

We gave the dog a bath last night because she had managed to get into something, we still don't know exactly what, that put little sticky spots all over her head. So we ran the water so it was warmish, not too hot and not too cold. Her collar was removed and I had to lift her into the the tub. we got her all soaking wet by dumping water all over her. I was kneeling on the floor and Pat was sitting on the side of the tub blocking any escape. We lathered her down and rinsed her off. Hehehe.... she was all wet and scrawny looking. Once she got out of the tub, I rubbed her down with a towel as best I could and then let her out of the bathroom so she could freak out in the bedroom. Hah! If you have never seen a dog after a bath, they go nuts. They run around rooms at break neck speed and hop on couches and beds and try to tear them up until an hour later she finally calms down and gives up, resigned to being clean.

next up? Reading and class tonight, maybe a trip to the store for some dinner objects...
on Friday, I am heading over to my parents' house to eat in the sukkah and shake shake shake the lulav and etroge! yay Jew stuff!

So we are into week 4? of school and things are going fast and furious. I only have one more live class this week and then i get to watch a video of the thursday class as they have decided not to meet. Which is probably a good thing and done because of the G20 craziness. I know I would rather not be out and about on thursday or friday much. Crazy people protesting and roads closed and all that jazz. I feel like i just went through this a few months ago in dc with the inauguration. At least it will only be a few days.

I have to read a lot for next week's classes but I will also be missing both classes next monday as I will be busy being Jewish. I have agreed to read the late afternoon Haftorah of Jonah and the Whale. I will be chanting the blessings before and after in hebrew but reading the story aloud. I am considering giving a little 5 minute talk about it but i don't know. They haven't asked me to talk about it or anything, but I always feel like that is at the very end of services and everyone is all focused on teh bread being set up outside and not on what is going on and it is boring and all. I guess i just want to make it , not boring. we will see.

It is gonna be busy though this week and nest even with not having to physically go to some classes. I still have to read everything for tomorrow night and start working on the book review or whatever due next thursday. I then have to think about the two essays that are do two weeks from now, both on monday. Thankfully, all my classes want things turned in online so i don't have to print anything out. And, most of them give until midnight of teh due date to turn things in. huzzah! Not, that i really want it to get down to the wire like that, but i know that for some papers, i might need every little second.

On top of that, my friends are coming up on friday and we get to spend a good day and a half? two days? together. yay! i am excited about this and patrick got those days off of work so he can play too! Ok, time to go look up fish stew and see what i need to do...

It is the end of my third week in grad school and i hope i have been keeping my head above water with assignments and online discussions and whatnot. I have turned two papers in and also a lab. the next couple papers are all due in about two weeks and are all researchy papers. great. i just need to manage my time between those and the billions of required readings for each class. I have decided that for my huge class about information theories, i am going to just skim most of those readings and see where that gets me.

Yesterday was mostly pleasant. I left the house around 11 in the morning and walked briskly to the bus stop. A few minutes later patrick appeared around the corner very out of breathe because he had run the whole way. But he made it and was glad for it. We both got off the bus at the cathedral of learning where i went to class and he caught another bus to head over to trader joes and get his check.

Class was a mixture of interesting tidbits but mostly boring. The one exciting thing is that about an hour and 40 minutes in, the fire alarm went off and we all had to troop out to the courtyard and stand around for half an hour being thankful that our class was on the ground floor and not the 50th. We had two schools of thought on the issue, one being that someone really did not want to take an exam somewhere and pulled it or that they were drilling us for next week when it may be needed to exit teh building quickly if protesters or whoever went nuts.

i got out of class at 3 and patrick was waiting for me, we both managed to run across the street and catch our bus before the light turned green. then it was back home to finish a paper for me, and noodle around with computers for him. We had left overs for dinner and watched the season premiere of bones, which was awesome! I was excited that the lady lawyer was back after being gone like two years or something from the show. awwwwww, it was cute and happy and sad and i have missed this show!

then i watched the new project runway and models of the runway and agreed that the right person went home, he was being a dick and even tim was not sorry to see lying behind go. tonight is the season finally of eureka but i will not be watching it as i will be being jewish. oh well. i will just have to watch it online sometime later.

In other news patrick and i got in a fight about his future and how he feels about himself and all the usual crap and i had to yell at him about how he is skilled and a good person and not a bum and basically be his outside self esteem source. Well, i finally had enough and took a shower and then went to bed. Just before going to sleep i informed him that i was done with all of that and that i will no longer argue for his good name. if he can't grow up and get over himself and move on from all his baggage crap then i no longer have the desire to try either...we will see what happens, who knows?

Ugh, and so begins the research paper madness. Now, these papers so far are only 3-5 pages, but they are still research papers that involve citing things and cannot be free form writing. I try my best with these. I even make up outlines in my head and sometimes on paper if i am still confused. but i still don't think i am really good at research papers. but i suppose i will have to be. perhaps i need to find the voice that best suits my writing? maybe.

in other news, friday is erev rosh hashana. i am going to eat with mom and dad and then go to services with dad as mom has a rabbi gig for some former member of the congregation. freaky. these are like all of mom and dad's friends who have left because they want a rabbi or something. dad is uncomfortable with them and this whole thing i think because right now he is president of the congregation's board and so a very big part of what goes on. but a lot of his friends have sort of bad blood with the congregation and have left and now his wife is leading their service. so....yah...odd jewish politics.

the weekend next is going to be even more crazy. it is the celtic weekend at the pittsburgh renaissance festival. So maggie, meg and leeann will be coming up for a few days for that fun. but also, patricks father and brother will be coming up to visit with patrick those few days and of course, the g20 thing will be going on! and on top of that, at the tail end of next weekend is yom kippur...whew!

so to some it all up, i have no money, but i will be very busy for the next couple of weeks with papers and people and reading and holidays and school and festivals and lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

Took a shower this morning which was lovely...i always feel so good being scrubbed and clean.

then had lunch and watched the news, started reading an article for school while waiting for patrick to get ready.  Took him off to work and went on my merry way to monroeville to the petsmart out there.  I had to get daisy some heartworm medication and you can only get it from a vet.  So the banfield at teh petsmart works just fine, we took daisy to the banfield in virginia so might as well take her to it here.  While there i got to coo over the adopt-a kitties.  OMG one of them was so cute.  i really want a kitty but i know i have like negative money so it wouldn't be fair to get one and have to pay for it to eat and have litter and everything right now.  Maybe when i pay off my credit card sometime this year.

I also bought some more poop bags for the madam's road apples.  I went off trying to find a walmart in monroeville and discovered after about an hour of driving up and down that non exists out there that i could see so i stopped off to get some gas before heading back on the parkway.  It was then that i realized that wile i had paid for teh poop bags, i did not actually have them with me, so i had to drive all the way back up the hill to the petsmart again.  i walked in and mentioned something about poop bags and the cashier just laughed and handed over the bag with them in it.  I was a little surprised as i thought they might just reshelve it after i hadn't shown up for an hour...but no, there they were, just sitting there waiting for me.

So i high tailed it over to the giant eagle at the waterfront where i got some toiletries essentials and some tilapia for dinner.  i got home and copped up the garlic really small.  I put it in a sandwich baggy with some lemon juice and lime juice.  then i sliced up an onion and added that with some freshly chopped cilantro and kosher salt.  i cut the tilapia into smaller pieces and put them in the baggy and messaged around all the ingrediants for about 5 minutes until all the juices were absorbed.  I also chopped up yellow, red, green, and orange bell peppers and put them in a separate pans.  some olive oil in the pans and both things went in their respective pans...the peppers were good and still crunchy but warmed through and just on the verge of getting mushier.

now i am sitting here contemplating the book i need to read for one of my cnext classes, it is (thank the lord) mostly high gloss pictures and not very long.  more interesting than journal articles, that is for sure.  i am also amused that i bught this book off of amazon and have discovered upon opening teh packaging that it is a former library book. hahaha, apt, i thought...

I had my first classes on Monday. Archives management at 9 am in the morning and preservation and conservation at 6 in the evening. The first class was interesting, although it was the intro class, so it was a basic overview of what we would learn and we went around and introduced ourselves. The class in the evening had the same basic set up with an overview and introducing ourselves.

I am excited about being back in the classroom and learning new things. You don't know how much you miss it until you have been gone from it for a few years. AND there are no classes next Monday! HAHA! But, I do have a paper already due in two weeks. It is only a 3-5 page paper about why we have cosen archives and what we want from the class.

I have decided to try to borrow from the library most of the books i need for the classes because i am poor. But, I do think that the ones I will need for a "professional library" I will go ahead and buy with the kickback from the loans.

Patrick and I had dinner with my parents yesterday. We cooked out on the grill with yummy vegetables and steak. I especially love the zucchini and yellow squash and asparagus on the grill. Oh! Also the portobellos. YUM!

I then helped my mother figure out her digital recorder while Patrick and my dad had a "man to man" discussion about finances. hehehe. My mom was so happy that we figured it out...awww. And Patrick appreciated the talk with my dad as I don't think his family has ever sat down with him and given him good advice and support with what he wants to do.

Well, today I have my third class. This one should be "intro to information technologies" and be all about the machines and whatever. Eep. We will see, I hope it does not prove to be a subject that goes right over my head. I think Patrick wants to come with me tonight so I can stay safe on the bus at night. But tomorrow I get to have a class in the cathedral of learning which i am sort of excited about because it totally looks like Harry Potter land.

Ok, We are off to head to the grocery store and pick up meds for Daisy...

hi hi
So, yesterday was the errand out to springwood to view it and get an estimate on the place for the WEDDING!! hehehe. the place is very pretty with many options for the ceremony. i like it a lot. they even have a thing about a cookie table which i laughed at. but it also seems to be a little pricey...at least to me. i don't quite know what is pricey and what is not. this place, for the ceremony would be 13 hundred..but if you have the reception there also, then they reduce that price down to 11 hundred. but the reception is a separate bill and the cheapest of those would be around 12 thousand..yep. whew

so i mean they would provide everything but decorations for the reception, the booze, the cake, and a few more things that don't seem as important. everything else they would cover, the table linens, the flatwear, the glasses and plates, sound system, food...yah..so, is that pricey? i don't know. we will look at other places and see what we can see. these prices are estimates for this year also, not for 2011. We are to check back in january.

otherwise we are waiting for money to get in the bank account so we can pay bills, hurray bills! patrick is on his way to do laundry today and i get to call around and take care of phone errands today.

Tomorrow? first day of orientation!! excited and nervous, haven't been in school for three years now. eep

So, it is official that all the loans i need for school have been approved! I am going to school for real!! I am excited but nervous about the work load, writing papers and somehow getting those papers printed... my printer is a dinosaur and needs to be fed one piece of paper at a time and even then it is dicey that it won't eat the paper and chew it up into a wrinkled mass of stress building. I guess i need a new one but that costs money and i need a job before i have money...sigh. Hopefully i will get about 2,000 back from the loans each semester to help with books and bills...but i know that won't go a long way for a couple months. sigh.

so i am glad about school and about volunteering at the history center..although i still don't have a schedule there...hmm. but i am worried about the job situation. like, i need one. i know i have the temp agencies and stuff, but yah. i think i will apply to trader joes today, even though they only start at 9 an hour, it is still better than nothing i suppose.

anyway, i guess i will run along and watch what ever is going on today in news...

This provides no money, but it might help my career in the long run i suppose. I am also waiting on my plus loan to be accepted. i have been approved for like 20,000 through stafford but each semester costs like 15,000 so, yah i need more. sigh.

going to go see julie and julia today with the parents as a belated birthday for my dad who spent his last week at a wedding. hope he likes teh lion i drew for him as a gift..hmm.

AH! Why is the sight yelling at me! lordy! apparently it needs to yell at me to inform me that i have won a new wii...er.

Anyway,
Today is an errands day, and a call people day. First thing I must do is call the landlord about a number of things including there is a broken key in the bottom lock of our front door, only two burners work on the stove, the hot water handle leaks on the sink upstairs and what do we do with the water bill that is addressed to him?

Then I need to try and see if i can get in touch with the temp agency people and see what is up with them and if they have any jobs jobs for me, cuz of that whole needing money thing to pay bills.

Then we are off to add patrick to the bank account so we can just pool our money together to pay bills. And then to the jewelers in squirrel hill so patrick can have his watch battery changed. Then to the mall to muck about because for some reason, patrick wants to go to the mall.... oh well

Then Patrick works friday and saturday, and we go have a belated birthday day with my dad on sunday! Yay! Then Monday I go into the history center for my orientation as a volunteer...whew!! So that is the plan for the next few days. Thought you all should know... :-P

Also my stomach hurts... and my head.... yay for being a girl! Oh! That reminds me I need to look into the health insurance through pitt...hmmm

So yah, i have been having fun with yearbookyourself.com for teh past couple hours, it is awesome! total amusement. Nayways, it has been a week and a half since moving here and i suppose this place is starting to be home. things are slowly being unpacked. the kitchen is shaping up, the bedroom and living room are ok, the dining room is still packed full of boxes. oh well. it will get there. I have applied for a multitude of loans to help pay for school. here's hoping i get the loans and then go to school and then get good job and yah. i need money, although i could actually use a job right now, seeing as i you know, don't have one right now.

i have also started planning the wedding, albeit in the prelim stages. i have found a lovely place i think would be a nice venue and stuff, i just want to run everything by my mom first to get her experience and advice.

Uh... the buses are annoying

daisy is thefty

patrick is itchy

Patrick has successfully ridden the bus to the laundry mat on his own today and is in the process of cleaning his clothes and prolly eating at dairy queen. We are going tomorrow to my parents to water the pants, mow their lawn, eat their food and use their washer and dryer...yay! Right now i am watching tv, thinking about lunch with a sleepy dog next to me. Our house is slowly coming into shape, i was working on clothes yesterday, which i will continue to do, but it is hard when they are mostly dirty and need to be washed first. I am not putting dirty clothes on hangers or in drawers...sigh.
we'll see for tonight what is going on, anyone have any ideas?

well, Yesterday was full up! We spent two hours doing laundry in the laundromat down the street sweating and being annoyed by the machines. Then I enjoyed BBC america for a nice long while and got dairy queen and a birthday blizzard with heath bar in it. Then, went out to the cheesecake factory i the southside works with patrick and the parents. there i ate a yummy salmon salad and chocolate raspberry cheesecake. They said it was my birthday so the waitress and some others came and sang me happy birthday and they put a candle in the cheescake. also they wrote happy birthday in chocolate sauce on the plate and put candy confetti. that was the second time i had the staff at a restaurant embarrass me for my birthday this week.
Then we came back home and had a nice quiet night until we were about to go to bed. at that point patrick came in and sid we needed to talk. he sat down on the bed as i laid there without my glasses and in a sleep blur. He told me how much he loved me and wanted to be with me and then got on one knee and pulled a box out of his pajama pants pocket. I started laughing and crying and said i needed my glasses for that part. Then he proposed and i said sure why not? haha, no, i said yes and so now we are getting married officially at some point in the future, somewhere...

Happy birthday to me!
It is drippy outside, maybe it will kill some of the humidity today and the poor dog wont have to run around the house panting. here's hoping. My project for this morning is to go to the laundromat with patrick, then it is back to the house to put the laundry away and clean the bathroom. exciting no? Patrick's dad and lois are not coming up after all i guess, they decided to come in a few weeks when his dad has vacation time or something like that.

Tomorrow seems like a tool around town day where we must go to trader joes and see about patrick's job and we must go o pitt's financial aid ofice and see what i can do about paying for grad school

YEEHA!

I am a little worried about moving and money issues...
Bills are gonna be due for both personal and here (credit card and electric) and then bills for the new place, like i have to pay the cable people 135 bucks in hand when they come to hook it up next saterday. Does anyone think it would work if i called up the credit car and asked for a lower apr or something? cuz i don't know if i can swing 350 a month as a minimum payment. I am worried about getting everything into the truck that we rent and stuff, and patrick driving it cuz he is all worried about driving a big truck on the highway. I have to drive my car and transport the dog, so i can't help him out with the driving.

I think it is just the change looming but i am still freaking about all these things...money, packing, unpacking, jobs, money, money, not having gas for a few days, money....

I have had a headache for the last two days...sigh. I made progress with the bills and utilities and things yesterday, so that everything will be turned off or on as appropriate. Today teh plan is to do laundry and in the process find things i can pack away and also to find the coat i am to wear this weekend.

In other news, we are planning on heading over to baltimore for shore leave, which is a semi local convention for sci fi stuff. I think some folks from stargate atlantis will be there.

also, has anyone noticed that scifi has changed their name to syfy...idiots. that is so dumb.

nayways...yah
